Cluster lights and 4wd stick not lighting up

I have an aftermarket radio which has been on there for years and a couple days ago it shut off and said miswired. I took it out and pop the 12 volt wire hit the radio bare and shut the radio off. Got the radio back on but no interior lights except for dome lights. The cluster works it just dosnt light up. I took the cluster off and checked the bulbs there all good. I checked all fuses there all good got it to come back on and as I put the radio back in it popped again. All wires are tapped up no bare. So I don't know what to do know. Something on the radio is causing it not to light up
