Can you tell me what the steering wheel nut's torque should be on my car? I am replacing the clock spring and I don't want to over tighten the nut? Thanks, Yvonne

Happy to know you understand the importance of properly torquing fasteners.

30 Nm, then an additional quarter turn. That's because if you go by common sense, the nut will never appear to become tight. This is a one-time-use nut that is supposed to be replaced each time it is removed because the threads stretch a predetermined amount when you turn it that extra 90 degrees.
