Would a bad clock spring cause my truck not to start?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.
A clock spring won't prevent the engine from starting. What is happening?

You can turn the key and have power. (Checked battery charge is good.) Turn the key you get nothing.

Okay, that can be a few things. The first thing that should be checked is if the car starts in neutral. If not, I need you to check for power to the starter itself. I will provide a link that explains how it is done. You will need to use a volt meter, so I will include directions for that, too.
Let me know if this is something you feel comfortable trying. If not, I will try a different approach.

One of the wires connected to the starter was completely off! After cleaning the connections and replacing a nut we are up and running. Thank you so much.
