Clock spring went bad in less than a year

I had the airbag replaced less than a year ago and the dealership said the clock spring was replaced. If it went bad this soon, is it on the dealership to fix it?

I don't know how Volkswagen does things, but at my Ford dealership our warranty is 12 months parts and labor.

Clock springs go bad when they have been over extended have you had any steering work done recently? Here is how you can replace the clock spring yourself. If you need to know how to take the steering wheel off let me know. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.
