Vehicle shut off suddenly

My vehicle suddenly shut off. It will crank but would not turn over. Could the clock spring cause this?

Just a quick question first. Was the steering wheel removed or work done on the clock spring or steering column when this happened? Let us know and we'll go from there. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
