Climate control not working properly

The climate control temperature setting reads off. cannot change. the blower works on defrost only. do not get any air through vents. cannot get any heat through defrost.

Hello,

It sounds like the climate control module is out. To be sure lets run a CAN scan which you can get for about $40.00 on Amazon. Here is a video to show you how with instructions in the diagrams below on how to change out the controller:

I have to make a recommendation for this vehicle. These cars have a very complex climate control system which includes four pages of wiring schematics. Based on what you have described, I suspect that a fault has occurred in the control module. However, that is a potentially expensive guess. To make things even more difficult, parts such as the climate control module requires what is called coding. A specific code needs entered on the vehicle specific to the vehicle for it to work properly. This basically prevents the desire of theft and deems used parts basically useless.

Now that I said that, you really should have the computer scanned using VAG software to determine exactly what is causing the issue. Without doing this, it becomes a guessing game which can become very expensive and not helpful.
