Cleaning intake manifold sensor switch

The engine light code P2016 came on, intake manifold runner position switch. Can I fix this problem by taking off the runner position switch the actuator and cleaning it?

Yes always try cleaning before replacement.

It is a throttle bore but you get the idea. Below are some diagrams of how it will be on your car.
