Will crank but will not start

It has been in the garage for about six weeks while I replaced the top and rear axle seals and bearings. During this process I connected the battery in reverse. I replaced everything that looked bad. The Jeep will crank and acts like it wants to start but just will not run. I replaced the coil but that did not help. I can see fuel go into the carburetor when I work the throttle. Any ideas?

Run this test,

It will maybe clue me in on what you have done to your poor baby!

Jumper wire from the positive side of the battery to the positive side of the coil.

Click on my two pictures below

If it will run, the only way to kill it will be to disconnect the jumper. We have just bypassed the "on" position of the key.

What are your results?

Okay, so the Jeep runs when I connect it like you said. What do I need to do now?

I think I received a reply from you but I cannot open it. Also, I had the ignition module tested and it tests good.

Great!

A couple of possibilities.

Let's weed an easy one out now.

Fire it back up.

While you are hearing that raw power being generated,

Take that jumper loose at the battery.

Does it run or shut off?

It shuts off when I remove the wire.
