2001 Citroen Xsara engine auto diagnostic light

Hi - I was driving yesterday and the engine auto diagnostic light came on and the car started to feel "juddery" and was loosing power - the light was flashing - car was juddering even when stationary
I am a female driver and do no twant to be ripped off by a garage !!! what is the cause likely to be ?

sounds like you a faulty coil or plug .. a simple diagnostic check will verify the fault .. and a relatively chaep and simple repair !! hope this helps
