1996 Other Citroen Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 85000M miles

My car is a Citroen(1996)XM SX 16V ESTATE.IT HAS A CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM,INCLUDING THE PETROL
FILLER FLAP.THIS FLAP WILL NOT OPEN.COULD YOU PLEASE ADVISE A WAY OF OPENING THIS.(THE HANDBOOK SAYS TO TAKE OUT THE SPEAKER AND GRILL AND THERE SHOULD BE A SMALL LEVER)I HAVE DONE THIS BUT CAN NOT SEE ANY SUCH LEVER.COULD YOU PLEASE ADVISE.I'M IN A BIT OF A PICKLE AS I'M NOT ABLE TO USE THE CAR.

Im in the USA, so my software doesnt have any info on your vehicle.I did a little searching and came up with the same info you did from your manual.Did you look with avery bright flashlight to see if the lever was maybe off to the side a little? On auto-opening doors like this, the manufacturer almost always puts a manual release on it as well.
