Engine recalls done, fuel pump changed, spark plugs changed, oil change done. But after driving for about twenty minutes highway stop at lights and it chugs enough that vehicle is rocking. No engine light on. No codes read on scan.

Hello,

This sounds like you have a MAF sensor that needs replacing because the sensor wire is too far gone to be cleaned. When this condition happens it will no set a code but it will cause the engine to chug and have low power.

Here is a guide to help you see what you are in for when doing the job:

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

Hi Ken so I ended taking suv to local gm dealer as they have done all the recall work they did the diagnosis as being the timing chain they wanted more then I could afford so my son and 3 of his friends all of that are licence mechanics changed it got it all back together and after warmed up took it for a drive and still chugs so I’m still no further ahead with the dealership diagnosis but I am almost 600.00 poorer. The guys here are all scratching their heads cause no codes and everything has been cleaned changed or checked

Okay now that they have the engine back together can we run the codes? It sounds like you have a MAF sensor that needs to be replaced.

Please run down this guide and report back
