2002 Chrysler Van Front Wheel Drive Automatic 115000 miles

My girlfriends van does not blow out hot air. The air conditionaer works. But the weather is getting cooler out. She can not use the defrost to defrost the windows. She is not able to use the hot air from the engine to warm the van. It feels as if the just the fan is on. Also the speed control works only in the high position. For the AC and the fan. What do you think could be wrong?

Try replacing the thermostat and also check the blower motor resistor
