There is a terrible noise coming from the front of the van. It is more noticable when idleing. I was told it could be the power steering pump going bad. I haven't noticed any problems in steering - Is this a possibility or is it something else. Thanks.

Start by removing the belts and checking each belt driven accessory to check for play or noise.
It could be any of them, even the water pump.
Let me know what you find.
