1994 Chrysler Van sluggish

The Van is a Villager it will run great until it fully warms up then it will start to sputter and choke. After a while the engine will die and smell like burning oil. After it cools off it runs great again. If anyone has an answer for this I would appreciate it.

have the vehilce plugged into a diagnostic computer to check for fault codes stored on the cars PCM ..
