Electrical problem
2007 Chrysler Town and Country 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 26k miles

when activated the slider opens 12in and stops if opened manually and activated remote/button inside car slider will close a bit over half way and stop

updated 2/2/10

I have ckd the mechanism from the fuel door to where it connects to the door lock unit on the car body and all appears to be ok is there a possibilty of the door lock/release unit be the problem i say this because when the door is closed and the open button is activated the door opens 12/14 inches and at that point there is a snap noise which appears to come from the lock unit on the door and the door stops your thoughts

To prevent the door from hitting gas filler
have that safety feature, door will open about a foot and will feel like it hitting a stopper
using a scanner tool you can check if have a door actuator problem and or an electrical issue
