2006 Chrysler Town and Country heat blowback

When the car is started up there is heat coming back into the car. The mechanic says there is a crack in th steering wheel case and is leaking fluiod. Is this an 800 dollar problem.

I'm not sure I understand. What is he replacing? Is it the steering column? What kid of leak did he tell you it was?
