My mini-van has never warmed up that quickly in the cold of winter, but now it seems to take a very long time. It will eventually warm up, but it seems like you have drive for a while or get the engine really working hard for the heater to really crank out the hot air. If you stop or sit idle, it doesn't seem to wanna warm up. Once you have been driving around town for a while, it will warm up great. So hot you have to take your coat off. What could be the problem?? I am thinking it is the thermostat, but someone told me I could be low on antifreeze??

It will be either one. I always advise to check the fluid level first. And then, if the thermostat has not been replaced lately, I would put a new one on.
