2005 Chrysler Town and Country Heater Blows Cold Air

My heater takes a very long time before it blows out only mildly warm air. Is this a thermostat issue? Also, my battery died and I need to replace it. Any chance they're related?

No they're not related-try replacing the thermostat and check coolant level and go from there.
