Do I need to take special precautions regarding the break flud when changing my break pads on a Chrysler Town & Country equipped with ABS. The Haynes Repair Manual indicates that drepressing the piston will push the break fluid back into the master cylinder. I've heard that this could damage the ABS system.

Hi:

Pushing the piston in won't hurt the ABS, but it could hurt the master cylender. When I was trained, they taught us when compressing the caliper piston, the fluid should be released through the bleader located on the rear of the caliper. The only thing to do is to break the bleader loose and when applying presure to the piston open it up and the extra fluid will come out. When pressure is released, you must tighten the bleader so air doesn't get in the system.
