I have a 2004 Chrysler van, the heater and ac works ok BUT the knob to direct the air flow does not cause a direction change. It is on the ac vent openings and will not change to def or floor.

It has a back lighted knob and the selector light shows each position when turned but has no effect on the air flow.

The knob for fan speed is the same type with a back light and it works properly.

Thank you

could be caused by loose vacuum hose, need to inspect vacuum connections behind dash.
