As a former 10+ year general line mechanic for Chevrolet, my question is simple. Does it take any special tools to replace the front struts on my LXI Town & Country? It is making a loud thumping noise from the front suspension while driving. The tires do not seem to show any wear at this time.

HI there,

Thank you for the donation,

There is no special tooling required to remove the strut assembly from the car, you will need a spring compressor to dismantle the coil spring from the strut to re new the strut unit.
