REAR MAIN SEAL SEEMS TO BE LEAKING. HAVE PULLED ROCKER COVERS, UNPLUGGED HOLES, AND REPLACED ROCKER GASKETS. HOW CAN I CHECK FOR SURE IF OIL LEAK IS REAR MAIN? IF NECESSARY TO REPLACE SEAL, SHOULD I PULL TRANS OR ENGINE? MUST EITHER BE PULLED COMPLETELY FROM VAN, OR IS THERE A WAY TO SEPARATE THEM TO GAIN ACCESS TO SEAL?

Rear seal leaking isn't very common. Look for the highest place you see oil. It could be running down from a cam seal or valve cover. If you live where they throw piles of salt on the roads, don't overlook a pin hole rusted through the oil pan.

Pulling the transmission is easier, but at 140,000 miles, I'd try to ignore the leak until the transmission needs work, then the cost of the seal replacement will only be for the additional part and a few minutes extra labor.
