Was cleaning the grease off the engine w/ greased lighting, accidentally sprayed some down by the belt. Immediately started hearing a high pitched noise, sorta like a "whirrrring". Wife not happy. Took it to the dealer, they said that the belt tensioner, idler pulley, and water pump should be replaced, but most likely it was the belt tensioner that was actually making the obvious noise. All of that sounds a bit excessive for just having gotten a little degreaser on the belt/pulleys.
Just hoping to get a second opinion and possible alternatives before I slap down $500 on this. Thank you!
