Steering problem
1999 Chrysler Town and Country 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I need to remove the power steering pump bracket. I took out the three bolts that seem to be the obvious means of holding it in, but it's still in there tight. Do I need to remove the alternator lower bracket bolt as well? Or is it something else?
Don't bother cutting and pasting from the Haynes manual. The manual is wrong. If you've taken this bracket out before, I would appreciate a comment on how to do so. Thanks!

You could always pull the axle to replace steering pump. If going the bracket removal route then make sure your hoses are disconnected from the pump, remove the pump-to-bracket bolts and put the pump to the side. Not coming out yet, I know. Now pull 5 bolts that hold the bracket on. Remove the crank pulley. Now you can pull the bracket out, then pump afterwards comes out easily as well.
