Is the small round part that seperates the low from high pressure side. Follow the larger pressure line(steel 5/16ths. It first feeds the injectors, and then it also meets this regulator which has a vacuum line on it. After the regulator the line is a return line to the tank. So when you get to the smaller return line, you have just passed it. Do you have high or low pressure? The line has a schrader valve on it usually. The fuel injector rail is part of the pressure line.

Sorry. Too bad you don't have the ability to check why it no go. As the pressure regulator does control line pressure. A bad one can cause low or high pressure so if you have it guaged at schrader valve, the test port, high pressure will start it and it will run too rich(chug). Too low, squeexe off return behind regulator for check or replace it. If you press the schrader valve on the pressure rail, fuel should be squirting out. Have spark from coil? If no spark or no fuel, their may be a fused power wire that energizes both ignition or pump. See if you have any codes by scanning it as this is the first step after checking both fuse centers on it. Do you hear the pump make noise at all? Like grrrrrr when key goes to run position? Must hear it run a few seconds.3.3, 3.0, 3.8, ? any codes?

Hi. You know, the same thing happened to me. I had a new fuel pump, a new fuel filter, and the car would'nt start. Nothing. I had no money because I just spent it. And someone told me about a fuel pressure regulator and I thought it may work, it sounded right. But I was not sure, and was confused, broke, and had so many other problems that I did not have time to check anything. If someone would tell me what to check, I could just print it out and do it(maybe). The engine seemed ok until all of a sudden it wouldn't start. Sometimes it would. But then it finally died. Seemed out of gas.
I stopped, rested, and started over, from the beginning. I had a V6 6 cylinder engine. Called a 3.3Liter. If you would like, I can tell you how I tried. And it finally worked. I had a print out. Sure know how you feel. from another person.
