Was driving down the road and spedometer wound up a few times at normal speed then quit working. Since that, the transmission will no longer shift and the steering won't lock after the key is pulled. Does this vehicle have a spedometer cable? Or could it be something else?

Does the check engine light come on? Sounds like either the vehicle speed sensor or the transmission computer. They have a medium failure rate. The computer can also be re-set by a good mechanic. Good Luck.
