My 41TE transmission has been rebuilt twice now. It lasted about a year both times. Once again a year later it is messing up again, except this time, the check engine light is on. I scanned the computer and got a couple of codes saying that the input shaft speed sensor was bad, and the TCM was bad. I replaced the TCM, Input shaft speed sensor, and the output shaft speed sensor. Now when I drive the van, everything seems great except when the transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear, it shifts SUPER hard. It almost feels like you have just run over a speed bump in the road. All of the other gears are smooth, and the down shifts are smooth. I did not have the ability to do a quick learn on the TCM, but I thought it would eventually pick up on the pressures and adapt itself. What could be causing the hard shifts?
