1997 Chrysler Town and Country reverse does not work

The van runs great but when i shift into reverse it will not move ,you can feel it shift into the gear,it acts like it wants to move but it just free spins.all forward gears are there and it shifts through all very good

Has the check engine light come on? I question the TCM (trans control module). Also, is the fluid clean and full?
