1997 Chrysler Town and Country Rear Bump Stops

I need a quick and easy way to remove the rear axel
bump stops on my van. The plate that the original ones were on rusted to the frame rail. I have tried grinding the pin down to access the thread rod, with no success. I have new ones, but cannot get the old plates off.
Please help.
