While driving anywhere, the gas gauge starts dropping down toward "E" (empty) with the Low Fuel indicator illuminating and chiming just for a couple of seconds or it may last for a minute. What might be the problem and its cost to fix?

Chances are the rheostat on the float is bad. One problem. It is part of the fuel pump in the fuel tank. The part is around 200.00 plus the fuel tank needs removed to replace it.

Let me know if you have other questions.
