1996 Chrysler Town and Country lost oil pressure

On a cold day -30F started up and did not catch oil light on siezed the engine. Is there a oil pressure relieve spring or some such gizmo that would cause loss of oil pressure? I have another and do not want the same to happen.

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge to determine if its the oil pressure switch, oil pump and engine bearings.
