I have a 1996 Chrysler Town & Country LXI 3.8 liter. About two hundred miles ago my check engine light came on. I put a code reader on and it said cylinder 1 misfire. I replaced the spark plugs and the check engine light went off. I checked the oil and it was full. About two days ago I was driving and my check engine light came back on. Before I could put a code reader on it, the engine started to knock. As I drove home the knocking started to get worse and worse but doesn't seem like I am losing much power. When I was driving the check engine light started to flash, then stay on, then started to flash again. I got home and put the code reader on it again but it would not even read a code to tell me anything. I was thinking it was a broken rocker, frozen value, or even a thrown rod. Any ideas?

The flashing light means a terrible misfire and your probably right on with a rocker, valve or connecting rod. Retry checking for codes and see if you can determine which cylinder and then pull off that valve cover and go from there
