This happened 3 times. The 1st was on a road trip got about 120 miles from home engine seemed to be starving for fuel. Engine stalled would not start. After about 6 hrs. Car starts runs great. Drove home and around town for 2 weeks. 2nd trip out of town got about 80 miles from home same problem only this time it seems like it was over heating and starving for fuel. Turned key on and of 3 times could hear fuel pump working. During a wait period I tried several times to start car. Finally it started but now I get this vacuum sound coming from the air box. Opened cover and it sounded like a heavy duty vacuum cleaner after I put my hand over opening it was trying to suck my hand into the opening. Tried to apply gas only to slow the engine down and starting to back fire through the intake. After about 6 hours waiting car starts but only get about 6 miles down the road. Upon checking to see if I have fuel, I released pressure from the fuel rail and gas was pushing out. The engine seemed hot but real was at operating temp. Left car and picked up next day. Started car and drove on trailer, got home and took for road test runs great. Until last night on my way home its stalls just like all the other times. Next day went to get car. Wont start. Checked fuel rail and got air no fuel. Towed car home. Now I tried to check the fuel rail and I got gas with go pressure. After several tries finally starts but runs rough and uneven idle, got that vacuum cleaner sound, can not apply gas to increase engine speed, wants to stall and starts to back fire through intake. Release gas pedal and engine wants to stall but keeps running. Shut engine off. After about 10 hours still does not start as before. In the first 2 trips I used cruise control which I disconnected it. Vacuum hose have been removed and replaced. Disconnected battery to reset. Only only dash codes are 3-1 and 3-2. Help in this matter would be appreciated. Anyone who has had or know of someone with this problem. Would be alsoo welcome. Thanx

Check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge designed for your fuel system and also test the ASD relay it powers the coil/injectors and fuel pump thru the fuel pump relay- Give me the pressure readings with and w/o the fuel pressure regulator before we go into different areas.

HI: Thanx for replying to message. I have taking a reading of the fuel pressure. First with the key on and off several times until fuel pump primed was 4lbs. Then after car was started and was running for about 1 minute the pressure was at 20lbs. Now I tried to apply the gas and as the engine was trying to rev up the fuel pressure dropped to about 10lbs. Pressure. I am not sure what the test the ASD relay is. Can u explain. Thanx hope to here back.
