1993 Chrysler Town and Country Broken lever to open the hoo

A few days ago the lever broke which initially opens the hood. I found the cable and pulled on it to open it, but the hood remained closed. How can I open the hood? I need to change the oil and add ant-freeze, but have not been able to open it.

Welcome to the forum, did you try to pull the cable using a pair of vicegrips? It also helps to have a helper pop the hood with palm of hand, in area of release mechanism, as you pull the cable. Some makes and models that works.
