Alarm? Won't go off

I own a 2003 Chrysler Sebring 2-Dr. Coupe w/ a inline 4 cyl. With 50.000 miles on it. My problem is that I recently had to replace the battery, but when I did the car went into "alarm" mode, i.E.- The horn blares off and on, the highbeam lights go off and on. So in order to drive the car, the fuses for those two things had to be pulled out. Everything else seems to be okay. Just so you know, this car has never had an alarm installed on it, it has no key-less entry. Is there a "switch" to turn the "alarm" off? And if so where is it?

I have the same problem wrong with my car i have to constantly having to disconnect the ground wire to the battery then reconnect it once i open the doors. If you have an after market system I would remove it which is sounds like you have. I would try a computer system hard reboot.

I assume by now you have an answer to your question, but just for possible help to anyone having similar problems- on my Cirrus, if I get out of the car, close the door, and manually lock & unlock the door with the key, the alarm deactivates. I don't know about other models, but also check your owner's manual- it may describe a similar procedure.
