I noticed that the floorboard on the passenger side is wet. Not standing water necessarily but wetter than would be if someone got in and their shoes were wet. I have floor mats with rubber backs and it is wet underneath the mat, not the mat itself. Any ideas on what that could be?

I had the same problem on my 98 convertiible.
Under the doors is a rail welded togehter. between the welds are what are called "Weep Holes".
check them. if they are plugged, the water will not drain from the trunk, roof, etc. Take a screw driver and clean the holes and spread them a little.
That should resolve the damp floor in the car.
