2004 Chrysler Sebring P0016 code

I was driving along just fine and the cars just died like it ran out of gas. I got the car home and checked the a the car to see what could be the issue. when i went to crank the car over it sounded like the starter just spun. Then I opened the timing belt cover to check maybe the belt broke. That was not it belt fine. but when I tried to crank the motor again nothing turned where the belt is. I had used the computer check device and it showed a p0016 code. crankshaft senor / cam shaft senor do these sensors disable the car to the point of not cranking over at all??? and when i do replace these sensors is that all i am dealing with?


Changed the camshaft sensor same thing

Hold on. You found the timing belt not turning, so why do you want to start throwing sensors at it?

How did you get the car home? Drive it or tow it? If you drove it, wasn't the engine running? Have someone crank the engine while you watch the crankshaft pulley. If it turns, but the camshaft does not turn, the timing belt has teeth stripped off under the crankshaft sprocket, and must be replaced. I'm pretty sure this is an interference engine, so there are going to be bent valves. The lack of compression is why it sounds weird when you crank it.
