My key will not turn the ignition key cylinder to start the car. It just suddenly jammed.

Is there a way to get the stering unlocked and the transmission to unlock so we can move car without towing?

Is this a problem with the Ignition key cylinder or is there a switch on the brake that went out. If I remember correctly you have to push the brake in to turn the ignition switch and to take out of park.

Try turning the steering wheel to remove pressure on the lock mechanism while you turn the key.
