I have a chrysler sebring lxi and I am planning on putting new speakers in.I know this car has built in amps for the speakers. Is there seperate amps for the front and rear speakers?. And does anyone know what the max rpm output watts is? Because I want to make sure I dont buy speakers and then blow them right away. Thanks for all who can help.

It is a six-channel amplifier running 26 watts RMS. Three channels to each side (left and right) going to the dash, front door and rear deck. It is OK to power basic set of speakers, but if you are going with name brands (Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine etc), you are better off with a new head unit and bypass the amplifier.

My good friends at asog.net had a discussion a while back about it. Just add http:// in front of the link.

If you don't want to have to completely re-wire the entire vehicle, go to Best Buy and ask for amplifier bypass module. Make sure that you ask for the right year. The photo is for 2007 and up.
