1999 Chrysler Sebring Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Currently I have 215x50R17 tires. I need to replace them...do i have to replace them with the exact size, or can i go to a different size? I know that i have to stay with a R17 tire, but can everything else be different? What size is recommended?
