My car currently has 110,000 miles on it. However, 70% of the time I start it, the odometer reads 177000, which is kilometers. It will switch back and forth between startings. I am trying to sell it, but it doesn't look good when it is in kilometers. And there is nothing that lets them know it is km instead of miles. How can I change it to read miles all of the time?

The problem is in the instrument cluster. The mileage for your vehicle is stored in the power train control module (PCM) Unfortunatly the instrument cluster is not the kind of thing that can be repaired by you average DYIer. Check with your local savage yard (junk yard) and see if theu have a cluster for your vehicle. If you change the instrament cluster with a good part it will read the actual mileage and your will be able to switch inbetween miles & kilometers.
Let meknow if this helps.
