1997 Chrysler Sebring oil pressure light

I am trying to figure out likely causes as to why when my cars rpm's drop below 1000 the oil pressure warning light illuminates.

Hi there,

You should first get the oil pressure tested with a mechanical gauge, hot and at idle this will give you a true indication as to the oil pressure, if it is OK, the electric sender is faulty, if it is low, you will have a mechanical problem to check out, do the test first.
