MY 96 SEBRING HAS A BAD AC PULLEY / BEARING. CAN I BUY A BELT FOR A SEBRING WITHOUT AC AND SIMPLY BYPASS THIS PULLEY?

Usually simply buying a belt the non A/C option does not work. Plus all Sebrings came with AC standard, so the parts book won't list one without AC.

This is what you need to do. Get a piece of non-stretchy rope. Run the rope through all pulleys and bypass the AC pulley. Keep it tight. Now, take that piece of rope to the parts store and ask for a belt that size.

Now, not all parts person know how to read the belt number. This is how you read a Goodyear Gatorback belt. If your parts store doesn't Goodyear Gatorback, tell them to use the interchange.

Follow this if you have the coupe.
Original belt: 4050582 reads 4 = serpentine, 05 = 5 ribs, 0582 = 58.2 inches long. Supposed that your rope is measured at 45.5 inches, you will need to ask for, yes, you got it: 4050455.

Follow this if you have the convertible.
Original belt: 4060560 reads 4 = serpentine, 06 = 6 ribs, 0560 = 56.0 inches long. Supposed that your rope is measured at 48.5 inches, you will need to ask for, yes, you got it: 4060485.

There, now go show off to your local parts people.
