My PT began leaking oil yesterday. After taking it to the shop today, I was told that it is leaking profusely from the timing cap and I would need to take it to the dealership for repair. What is the timing cap, how could it have broke, and approximately how much might I be looking at for repair?

Hi there,

You better check with the mechanic and find out where he said the leak was from again, as the timing cap means nothing to me, Timing cover, crank shaft seal in the cover yes, but not a cap, better get it clarified first.
