auto mechanic says radiator is cracked as well as thermostat housing being split so to replace both for parts and labor estimates $1100.00 Then $280 for upper/lower radiator hoses. This sounds extremely high. I know this mechanic and another one has complained about even having to work on PT Crusiers. They call them PT crushers.

First, I understand radiators will split at the seams. However, the t-stat housing is strange. And yes, a radiator is about 200.00 for it and hoses maybe 10.00 each and the housing maybe 50.00.

I agree with you and strongly recommend getting a second opinion. If you were here, this is around a 4 to 5 hundred dollar job total.
