2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser power steering fluid

I have a power steering fluid leak, by driving it am i causing damage to this? And if not, how long can I drive like this? (money isues right now)

The problem will start if you run the system dry (out of fluid )
will cause the pump to seize …………

make sure you always adding and keeping an eye on the fluid level
and if so you should be OK until ready to repair
