2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser power steering fluid

I have a power steering fluid leak, by driving it am I causing damage to this? And if not, how long can I drive like this? (Money isues right now)

The problem will start if you run the system dry (out of fluid )
will cause the pump to seize.........

Make sure you always adding and keeping an eye on the fluid level
and if so you should be OK until ready to repair
