Anytime your check engine light comes on, have your computer scanned for codes.
Your gauge cluster module could be faulty, or your Body Control Computer could be going bad.
Begin by checking your gauge cluster for loose wires/connectors. Also, on the back of the circuit board you'll find resisistors soldered in place. Sometimes these work loose. Check these with your fingers for looseness. If you find any, you could solder them back on or replace the unit.
If your gauge cluster checks out, then have your BCM checked. Don't just replace it. Have it checked.
