My dealership states that I need to replace the control arms and the outer tie rod ends. He also states that the lower engine mounts and the upper mount was broken in two. He then gave me a estimate for repairs, I declined and went to an independent mechanic where my car will be re-checked.

My question is.....Does 35000 miles seems low for all of these parts to have failed? The dealer states that the parts are "wear and tear" item. But, c'mon at 35000 miles ?!?!

Any help will be appreciated

BTW I have the PT Cruiser GT. Which has a slightly different suspension setup from the regular PT Cruisers.

It is not only the mileage but also the age (5 years).

Having said that, yes, it seems that the control arms, motor mounts and outer tie rods should not fail that soon.

Ask them if there are any TSB's on this condition for the GT PT.

You could also write/call Chrysler and complain, see if they will give you any help.
