Is it safe to drive with a slit in the pcv hose for a few days until I can order the new one and get it in?

Yes it is safe. Shouldnt cause to rich of a mixture enough to cause damage to the convertor.
It will give you poor gasmileage for a bit, and it will do a bit of poluting but wont damage the vehicle.
